Position Details

**Position**:Regulatory Affairs Analyst

**Supervisor**:Registrar, Manager of Professional Practice, Conduct and Regulatory Affairs

**Type: Type**:Eight (8) week contract, 35.0 hours/week, Paid

**Location**:Remote with the potential of occasionally working in office

The incumbent to this role will take direction from the Manager of Professional Practice, Conduct and Regulatory Affairs to support the development and implementation of the College’s governance and regulatory priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities outlined below are interpreted as being descriptive in nature and are not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks and duties:
REGULATORY TASKS
- Support the College in reporting and monitoring progress against the Ministry of Health’s College Performance Measurement Framework (CPMF);
- Review and analyze CPMF reports from regulatory health colleges in Ontario and the Ministry of Health’s Summary Report;
- Participate in initiatives to improve the College’s performance in CPMF (e.g., development of policies and processes);
- Contribute ideas to improve the College’s performance in CPMF.

GOVERNANCE
- Support the College in conducting a By-Law review;
- Conduct an environmental scan of provincial and national regulators to identify best practices with respect to By-Laws and governance processes (e.g., cooling off periods);
- Identify and recommend areas in the By-Laws for improvement (e.g., areas that could be removed and put into a policy);
- Participate in governance projects, by researching, analyzing and preparing options and proposals, consulting on approaches, assessing the impact on stakeholders and assisting with communication and implementation plans;
- Supports Council training and develops relevant educational resources on Council roles, responsibilities and decision-making processes.

GENERAL
- Conducts research, analysis and interpretation of current environmental trends in areas including Strategic Initiatives (e.g., Standards of Practice) and Statutory Programs;
- Collaborate with and support College staff to develop evidenced-based policies, standards,

guidelines and procedures to support the College’s programs to achieve its overall mandate;
- Provide support for stakeholder and partner engagement through surveys, committees, and/or working groups;
- Develop reports, briefing notes, project proposals and presentations in collaboration the Manager of Professional Practice, Conduct and Regulatory Affairs;
- Any other duties commensurate with grade/status as required by the Registrar or Manager of Professional Practice, Conduct and Regulatory Affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is funded in part by the Government of Canada, Youth Employment Strategy, Canada Summer Jobs Initiative. The applicant:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE
- Completion of an undergraduate degree, preferably in public policy and/or a research related field;
- Knowledge of the regulatory and legislative framework for the governance of health care professions in Ontario to ensure that the practices, policies of the College meet legal requirements. Specifically, knowledge is required of the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA), 1991, Health Professions Procedural Code, schedule 2 to the RHPA, the Dental Technology Act, 1991 and regulations made under these Acts;
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with ability to gain cooperation and build trust as a means of influencing outcomes;
