**OVERVIEW**:
Working within the Company’s Retail Finance Team, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing retail and pricing data, preparing reports and recommendations to improve efficiency, adding value to business decisions, and driving efficiency and operational improvements.

Reporting to the Retail Controller, the Accounting Analyst will be a key member of our Finance Team.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Site Paperwork Processing
- Validating of site paperwork submission.
- Analyzing and rectifying reporting discrepancies with the store operators.
- Restoring data and files in instances of loss due to system error.
- Reconciling site credit cards daily.
- Pulling and creating credit card file to be loaded into PDI for Esso locations.
- Reconciling Canadian Tire sites.
- Creating billing for dealer sites from Global and gift card electronic files.
- Processing cost credit and rebate payouts.
- Processing operator credits for miscellaneous expenses.
- Running the daily settlement process for all sites.
- Overseeing and maintaining Rent Control Sheets, including the setup or percent rent, fixed rent, and commissions.
- Assuming a key role in the administration of retailer changeovers.
- Balancing the general ledger for Esso Credit Cards monthly.
- Reconciling reported data from Esso sites to documentation, upon receipt.
- Analyzing new files required for import and providing pertinent information to business partners.
- Filing station documentation as received.
- Responding to retailer requests and questions as required.
- And any other duties or projects that can reasonably be required, commensurate with the role.

Retail Store Analysis
- Analyzing data, and identifying trends and anomalies to deliver analysis on which leaders can make business decisions.
- Providing training for Territory Managers and store operators related to systems, procedures and company policies, as needed.

**Requirements**:
**E**DUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:

- A post-secondary education in business/accounting is desirable.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting, analyst or comparable role.
- A high degree of computer proficiency, including competence in Word and Excel is required.
- Ability to review large data sets and manipulate them where appropriate.
- Previous experience with a recognized accounting system is desired.
- Knowledge of retail POS processes would be considered an asset.

- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Sound organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- The ability to communicate effectively in French is considered an asset.
