**Employment Opportunity: Choral Coordinator (Part-time Permanent Position)**

Established in 1789, the University of King's College is Canada's oldest chartered university and is associated with Dalhousie University. The King’s Chapel Choir sings services in the Anglican tradition in the manner of Oxford and Cambridge Chapels. It is an auditioned ensemble of 12 to 16 singers, singing weekly services and termly concerts in the Anglican tradition. The Chapel Music area is also the administrative home of the King’s Chorus, a non-auditioned choral society of some 50 singers, including students of King’s and Dalhousie, Faculty and Staff of both institutions, alumni, and community members.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Concert Administration**: venue booking, contracting, insurance certificates, ticket sales, front of house management on concert days; SOCAN/Entandem reporting, HST submission, and other concert-specific matters that arise.
- **Tours and Outreach **(Local and further afield): research and booking of transportation, insurance, accommodation, and meal arrangements, and other related matters, which may include driving rented passenger vehicles to transport singers.
- **Finance**: bookkeeping and invoice payment, including monthly invoices for paid singers (Section Lead/Lay Clerks).
- **Advertising and Promotion** (Recruitment, Concert, and General): web site updates, poster creation and printing (using external designer as necessary), social media, poster distribution, specialist journal advertisements and editorial space, and other communication routes as appropriate.
- **Choir Librarian**:sourcing, sorting, distributing, collecting, copying, and filing of all choral scores for both choirs, following all regulations on copyright and licensing.
- **Chapel Choir Robes**:allocating Chapel Choir robes of appropriate size to each member and monitoring their condition; arranging for repairs or replacements, as necessary.
- **Document Preparation**: music term cards; concert programmes; workshop handouts; and, other materials, as required.
- **Database**:creating and maintaining a list of recruitment contacts, choir alumni, music donors, and volunteers willing to assist with the delivery of our events.
- **General**: other matters relating to the King’s Chapel Music activities as they arise.

**Skills and Experience (required)**:

- Minimum two years of music-related administrative experience, working in higher education and/or music industry.
- Prior success in event hosting, including registration and ticket sales.
- Evidence of creating music-related social media campaigns.
- Knowledge of print copyright, and performance licensing, specifically as it relates to music, including live performance in concert, worship service, recording, and streaming.
- Demonstrated competence with browser-based web site content management interfaces such as Squarespace and/or Wordpress.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time within a flexible work schedule.
- A full valid Canadian driver’s license.

**Skills and Experience (Desirable)**:

- Familiarity with Anglican worship and liturgy (or those traditions with a close affinity, including Roman Catholic and Lutheran).
- Over 25 years of age preferred, for vehicle rental and insurance purposes.

**Closing Date: May 24, 2024**

**The salary for this position is $20 hourly. A comprehensive group benefits package is offered including membership in the Nova Scotia Public Service Superannuation Plan (PSSP).**
