Constituency Assistant - Outreach Coordinator

**Location**: Office of MPP Christine Hogarth, Etobicoke-Lakeshore. 195 Norseman, Unit 21, Etobicoke, ON, Canada

**Position**:Full-Time

**Overview**:Seeking a Constituency Assistant - Outreach Coordinator, you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication and engagement between the Member of Provincial Parliament and the constituents in the riding of Etobicoke-Lakeshore. Working as a member of a team, your primary responsibilities involve coordinating outreach initiatives to address community needs and concerns, actively fostering a positive relationship between the MPP and our constituents.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Social Media Management & Strategy**:

- Develop published content (images, video, written) across social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Monitor local social and other media platforms and prepare prompt responses as needed.
- Oversee MPP Christine Hogarth's website, ensuring it is regularly updated and maintained, while keeping the brand consistent across various platforms and incorporating feedback for ongoing enhancements.

**Content Creation**:

- Collaborate with the team to develop content ideas, strategies and execute accordingly.
- Design and produce visual and written content tailored for different platforms and audiences.
- Update website and social media with latest news, posts & event announcements
- Assist in newsletter creation, distribution, and drafting news releases, ensuring accurate and engaging content for various platforms and facilitating outreach to media outlets when required.

**Community Outreach**:

- Ensure the accuracy and relevance of the stakeholder database through consistent communication and engagement.
- Duties include systematic updating of stakeholder details, initiating regular interactions for updates, and efficiently circulating information regarding grant opportunities.

**Constituent Casework**:

- Engage with community members, answer inquiries, build strong relationships, and address/resolve constituent concerns related to provincial government services and programs.
- Maintain accurate records of constituent cases, following up as required to ensure satisfactory resolution.
- Work closely with government agencies to advocate on behalf of constituents.
- Participate in and provide support to MPP Hogarth at local events and meetings by actively capturing photos and videos, organizing tasks, taking notes, and handling follow-up responsibilities.

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Degree or Diploma in Communications, Political Science, Journalism, or similar field of Study
- Background in PR, politics, or related communications roles
- Skilled in content generation, social media, and public engagement
- Engaged with current events and governmental affairs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Skilled in organizing tasks and prioritizing time effectively.
- Proficient in social media, basic design tools, and informed on political issues.
- Willingness to work beyond regular hours and on weekends, if required
- Perform additional duties as required to support the team and achieve objectives.
- Must hold a valid Ontario driver's license and have access to a vehicle.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- public relations: 1 year (preferred)
- Social media management: 2 years (preferred)
