Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer ensures the best value in purchasing transactions for the company, controls the quality of the products purchased to ensure that they meet expectations and objectives, and guarantees the quality of service to the various internal customers served by the department.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Researches and initiates solicitations; selects approved vendors for each requisition;
- Issue purchase orders and ensure delivery within the required time, location, quantity and quality for one-time and large-scale projects, as well as regular inventory requirements;
- Report to the requestor on the status of the request;
- Quickly compensate for material shortages to meet production schedules;
- Follow up with various departments to ensure that material received is acceptable and that suppliers are paid in accordance with the terms and conditions stated on the purchase orders;
- Establish reliable lines of contact with the field management team to ensure all field purchase orders are accurate.
- Ensure that differences in value between the purchase order and the invoice are corrected ;
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing vendors and enter into long term partnership agreements; and
- Communicate with warehouse teams to ensure products purchased are in the quantities required.
- Manage supplier agreements;
- Evaluate supplier performance;
- Provide functional support to junior and temporary team members in various daily aspects;
- Participate in operational meetings as required
- Demonstrate added value in operational support activities.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- College or university degree in business administration, operations management option or any combination of training and/or experience deemed relevant.
- 3 to 5 years experience as a buyer;
- Bilingualism (French-English), both oral and written;
- Mastery of MS Office software, particularly Excel;
- Strong ability to work in a team
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Thoroughness and autonomy.
