The Sarnia manufacturing facility is the headquarters for ARLANXEO Canada Inc. with a Global Research & Development Centre for Butyl Rubber found in London, Ontario. Focused on the production of synthetic rubber, the Sarnia facility is a major supplier to both domestic and international markets and employs over 300 employees.

As part of the Central HSEQ Group, the Health, Safety, And Environmental Coordinator is accountable for providing managers, supervisor, and employees of the Sarnia Site by sharing knowledge and technical expertise on safety and health issues, legislation compliance and company commitments. As well as to coordinate the safety training program for the Site.

**Occupational Safety**
- Provide expertise on safety related topics including turnaround safety, compliance with OHSA, evaluation of new safety equipment to be used on site, HSEQ reviews, Turnover inspections.
- Ensure visibility in the field by completing paired inspections, and site reviews, attending meetings, and being an active participant in Site Safety Committees.
- Ensure timely review and revisions of site occupational safety standards.
- Actively participate in the implementation and maintenance of IMS and audits as required.
- Review existing training programs for effectiveness and implement improvements.
- Lead HSE related incident investigations where required, as assist with other investigations as requested.
- Ensure IH Plan (exposure monitoring, Noise, Light surveys, Heat Stress, etc.) is developed and executed, and preparing final reports for Site Leadership.
- Management of Asbestos Assessment program, including ensuring surveys are completed, air clearance monitoring completed as required.
- Review and revisions to HSEQ, standards and procedures as well as revising required training, and facilitating training as required.
- Provide guidance and recommendations when evaluating of new safety equipment to be used on site.
- Facilitations of HIRA’s as required.

**Environmental**

Work with the Environmental Engineer to assist on the following:

- Ensure compliance with Environmental Legislation, and Ministry orders through internal auditing, monitoring of regulatory activities, and regular interactions with internal and external organizations.
- Overseeing reporting of Environmental Statistics internally and externally
- Oversees environmental Incidents, emergency response and follow up.
- Evaluates Environmental impact of proposed process changes or new facilities and provides advise on pollution control technology.

**Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission**
- Assist with the maintenance of site licenses for all nuclear sources, complete all reporting requirements for CNSB, and audit compliance with CNSB.

**Experience/Education**

Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or other EHS discipline preferred.

CRSP or CRST designation or working towards designation.

Training in responsible Care, and ISO 9001, 14001 and OSAS 18001 an asset.

Strong working knowledge of Occ Safety, Environmental and Industrial Hygiene Programs, measuring are reporting an asset.

Regulatory affairs Emergency Response as well as Auditing Training Preferred

Must be computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes)

Excellent problem-solving skills, and communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
