We are looking for a motivated and productivity-driven Cable Placer to join our expanding team

**Job Duties**
- Place and pull various telecommunication cables including copper, coax, and fibre on both aerial and underground infrastructure. Enter telecommunication manholes for the purpose of installing telecommunication cables
- Install, remove, and transfer aerial telecom structure such as hydro poles, steel strands, lashing wire, fibre cable, etc.
- Install telecom pedestals and vaults
- Read and interpret telecom design prints and update based on progress, changes, and field findings
- Drive and maneuver large vehicles/equipment such as bucket trucks, flat decks, and reel trailers in tight spaces and easement locations
- Climb hydro and telecommunication poles using spurs with climbing belt, and ladders with harness
- Maintain a driving log, keep a clean and organized vehicle, perform daily vehicle inspections, and participate in daily FLHAs
- Perform other duties as requested

Aside from having attributes that are in line with our core values, one other essential “must-have” is your ability to travel. WP Telectronics has projects all over Canada. We need road warriors who can go where the projects are. A typical shift rotation is 21 days on, 10 days off

**Required Qualifications and Skills**
- Class 5 License and own transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Experience operating heavy machinery and driving large vehicles such as bucket trucks, flat decks, and reel trailers
- Comfortable working in heights using ladders and bucket vans (up to 40ft)
- Comfortable working inside confined spaces such as telecom manholes and service vaults
- Current Confined Space Entry, First Aid, and/or Fall Protection Certification is an asset

**Wages**
- Although pay will vary due to the piece rate structure, Cable Placers on average make $400-$600 per day

**Training**
- Training will comprise of on-the-job training and shadowing with another crew as a Telecom Technician. Training pay is $22/hour. Training timeline is roughly 1-2 months
