CNC Machinist

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Machine Operation**: Operate up to three automatic CNC machines to produce precision aerospace parts according to blueprints, router packages, specifications, and special instructions.
- **Quality Control**: Recognize and detect machine out-of-tolerance conditions and make necessary adjustments to controls or control media. Conduct basic trial runs to ensure machine settings or programmed control data are accurate.
- **Inspection**: Check parts for conformance to specifications using gauges and shop floor systems. Perform in-process inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- **Troubleshooting**: Identify and remedy minor machine malfunctions. Report major discrepancies to lead machinist or supervisor.
- **Collaboration**: Provide necessary information to the Manufacturing and Engineering teams to document procedures and update drawings. Participate in daily PSM1 meetings to report any ongoing or long-term issues.
- **Tool Management**: Monitor tooling conditions and rework as needed to ensure continuous machine operation.
- **Part Layout**: Lay out parts for successive and continuous machining operations, ensuring alignment with blueprint specifications.
- **Compliance and Safety**: Adhere to all Federal, Local, and State government regulations, as well as company-specific HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures. Attend all required training sessions and conform to safe operating procedures.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records, perform data entry, and ensure workspace housekeeping standards are met. Engage in waste elimination initiatives related to the manufacturing production function.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Seek opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting results.
- **Additional Duties**: Perform a variety of other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or a related field preferred.
- Experience in operating CNC Lathe, Milling, and Drilling machines, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, machine controls, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Basic understanding of shop floor systems and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under supervision.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
- Dexterity to handle small parts and tools.
**Working Conditions**:
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, oil, and machining debris.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn as required.
