We’re looking for a part-time reporter/ writer to find, develop and conduct original and compelling interviews of interest to the Portuguese Canadian community in the greater Toronto area.

**What you will do**
- Pitch fresh and original stories and explore issues important to our Portuguese Canadian diaspora.
- Conduct in person and virtual interviews for our weekly Focus Portuguese programs and digital media
- Interview newsmakers, experts ,academics and people within the Portuguese Canadian community
- Write, translate and repackage stories by many news sources
- Be fluent in social media trends with personal accounts and the knowledge to use it to generate stories and ideas
- Host and co-host the Focus Portuguese program as needed.

**What you will bring**
- Proven experience in journalism and media
- Ability to work in a group and in a fast and dynamic environment
- Proven experience generating powerful, compelling and original stories
- Ability to understand multi-platform coverage
- Knowledge of the cultural and political landscape in Toronto
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to consistently generate original content ideas
- Availability to work on weekends and statutory holidays
- Must be fluent in Portuguese, oral and written, but also with a professional proficiency in English, oral and written
