**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required
- Registered with the College of Social Workers required with demonstrated knowledge of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service
Workers standards of practice required
- A minimum of five years' experience working with the adults complex mental health/addictions in a mental health setting required.
- Education in evidence-based treatment modalities (i.e. Trauma Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy,
Solution Focus Therapy, and/or Motivational Interviewing) required
- Demonstrated knowledge of major mental health illnesses and main classifications of psychotropic medications required
- Demonstrated excellent clinical and case management abilities working with individuals living with severe mental health, trauma, concurrent
disorders and with dual diagnoses
- Demonstrated experience facilitating community and/or care planning meetings
- Working knowledge of the Health Links Coordinated Care Plan model
- Working knowledge of Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) model and content
- Applies person-centered care and the recovery model of care in clinical practice
- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision making, conflict resolution and ability to establish clear professional boundaries
- Demonstrated ability to engage clients living with mental health/addictions issues
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, provide therapeutic support and/or referrals to other services
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in and/or formulate care/treatment/discharge plans while assisting clients through this process
- Working knowledge of formal and informal community services / resources within the Niagara Region which support clients with mental
health/addictions
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative working relationships, using excellent interpersonal and communication skills, within Niagara Health
and with Niagara Regions' community services/resources
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation including the Mental Health Act, Children and Family Services Act, Health Care and Consent Act
and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development, ongoing education and integration of research into clinical practice
- Current Safe Management Group or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
Consistent and regular attendance with the flexibility to adapt working hours (including evening hours) to support client needs
- Applies Niagara Health CORE values, professional practice standards, and recovery/client-centered philosophy to client care and services
- Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset.
