Campus Services is a department within Facilities and Operations. The various operations within Campus Services serve the university community and visitors. Each unit is expected to operate in a financially sustainable means while contributing financially to the University.

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Manager, Business Planning and Analysis, the Lead Accounting Technician is responsible for administering all financial processes that support transactional activity in all of the Campus Services business operations. This position ensures that entries into the Campus Services business systems (Residence systems, Parking systems, Hospitality Systems, Campus Card Systems) are aligned with generally accepted accounting principles and are fully compliant with University policy. The Lead Accounting Technician manages all processes for posting and reconciling transactional business system financial activity with the University’s Enterprise Resource system. This position supervises at least one Campus Services Accounting Technician and will liaise with peers in Facilities and Operations, as well as Central Finance, to ensure that processes are aligned with all levels of the University financial organization. This position leads in continuous process improvement around all financial processes that interface with Campus Services business systems.

**Duties**

Team Lead
- Setting performance goals.
- Daily supervision and support, including training, mentoring, coaching and performance reviews.
- Recruiting and onboarding when there is a vacancy.

Process Development and Improvement
- Provide guidance and counsel to leaders of Campus Services business units, based on current financial data and an extensive understanding of University of Alberta policies, procedures and processes, as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Provide guidance to Campus Services business units on procedures and processes.
- Develop and manage the daily financial processes in support of and in collaboration with the directors and managers of each business unit.
- Conduct user acceptance testing for all financial processes as it relates to system upgrades and system changes.
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive accountability framework and appropriate controls.
- Provide professional judgement to identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement to current financial processes, while ensuring University guidelines as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are applied at all times by all financial resources within the area.
- Recommend and implement changes that will result in improved business processes, enhanced client services and ultimately better decision-making.

Financial Administration
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in daily cash and credit card deposits.
- Investigate all daily transactions between source systems and the general ledger to ensure
