Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the day to day operation of St. Michael's Homes through the execution of routine facility inspections, repairs, and building maintenance activities.

**Responsibilities**
- Executes scheduled facilities-related activities
- Performs regular inspection of facilities and systems to inform activities
- Supports effective management of workplace health and safety, security systems, alarm systems, utilities, and applicable licensing requirements
- Facilitates and/or performs cleaning, refuse removal, and room setup
- Handles routine pest control procedures
- Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on facilities including plastering and painting, plumbing, electrical work, and repairs to windows and doors
- Procures and inventories supplies and equipment as required
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of accurate documentation
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**
- One (1) year of direct work experience in facilities maintenance
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Ability to function independently and complete work as assigned
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal regulations and ordinances
- Strong telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
- Strong client service orientation
- Awareness and appreciation of client needs specific to the substance use, substance dependency and mental health field
- Ability to attend regularly scheduled meetings and engaged in impromptu supervisory conversations
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of the day.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs / 23 kg.
- Manual dexterity required to use a computer.
- First Aid, CPR, and/or other certificates are considered assets
- Driver's license with clean abstract required.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: From $60,000 per year

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
