Position: Child & Youth Facilitator

**Qualifications Required**:
- Human Services degree or diploma
- Knowledge of childhood development and family dynamics
- Direct experience working with families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal skills with good oral and written communication. A second language is an asset
- Experience in program development and group facilitation
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of computers including ability to document in a data base and with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines
- The ability to work in a team environment with children, youth, families and other professionals
- Current Police Information Check, Child Intervention Record Check and First Aid Certificate
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
**Child and Youth Coordinator**
**Summary**:
The Child and Youth Facilitator will be responsible for developing programming that strives to improve the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of children 0-12 years of age. They will be innovative in program development and delivery. The Child and Youth Facilitator will work with other FRC staff to ensure the needs of children and their families are being met through programming. They are responsible for building positive relationships with children, families, schools and agencies in the community.
**Specific Duties**:
**Programming**
- Work with the Program Team in the research, development and implementation of programs that reflect the needs and interests of children (0-12 years).
- Plan, organize, and facilitate programs for children 0-12 years in the area of emotion regulation and appropriate child development for this age group.
- Assesses suitability of children and youth to attend programs
- Identify service gaps and develop programs to meet the need.
- Develop a logic model and evaluation for program participants.
- Collaborate with agency team members and community partners to provide optimal programs and services to children and youth.
- Work with elementary schools to offer emotion regulation programs to children in grades 1-6.
- Develop and offer outreach programming in the community for ages 0-5 years.
- Interacts with children, parents and families in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
- Ensure that the health, safety, and well-being of all program participants are adhered to at all times.
- Refers children and families to other social service programs when needed.
- Deals positively with conflict situations that arise.
- Maintain records of children attending programs.
- Implement evaluation tools to measure if program outcomes have been met.
- Maintain program statistics for purposes of reporting to funders, evaluation and program development.
- Identifying new and maintaining current partnerships and relationships with community organizations and School Boards to enhance service delivery.
- Ensure all materials and supplies are purchased for the programs.
- Confer with the Program Manager on a regular basis.
**General Duties**
- Represent St Albert FRC and its partners in a professional manner at all times.
- Ensure all programs operate in compliance with Alberta Licensing Standards and Best Practices.
- In conjunction with the program team, plan and implement Special Events.
- Actively participate in community-based networks, attend meetings and report back to the team.
- Assist with St Albert FRC’s annual events and fundraisers, including preparation and the day of the event.
- Assist in daily housekeeping and administrative duties associated with the upkeep of St Albert FRC.
- Adhere to the organizations’ confidentiality policy and PIPA at all times.
**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
