The Norfolk Association for Community Living (NACL) is a non-profit charitable agency with a mission to promote and support inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all aspects of community life. NACL provides a full complement of support services for over 200 individuals in the Norfolk community.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the position of:
**Full-time (40 hour) Community Outreach Supervisor**

NACL’s Community Outreach Services Departments include services such as: Host Family, Supported Independent

Living (SIL), Community Participation Supports, Passport Funding Program, and Employment Services.

Working under the guidance of the Program Manager, this position is responsible for coaching, mentoring and training of direct support employees, while ensuring that high quality support is being provided.

Critical components of the supervisor role include:

- Responsible for the effective day-to-day operation of the Association’s services.
- Monitor support practices and work locations to maintain the health, safety, and well-being of people in receipt of support and all staff;
- Work with employees to ensure successful individualized person-centered support to people emphasizing self-determination, independence, and relationships;
- Works collaboratively with community partners, external service providers, and develops community networks;
- Recognizes and acts on opportunities to create partnerships and lasting relationships with service providers, community partners, and/or employers;
- Must be a creative problem solver and decision maker that can identify and solve problems within the association;
- Assigns caseloads, supervises, monitors, and evaluates ongoing performance of all direct reports; identifies staff performance issues in a timely manner and utilizes all resources to address them.
- Works diligently to create strong team-based cultures within staffing groups by establishing team norms, goal planning, regularly planned meetings, effective communication strategies and utilizing conflict resolution skills as required;
- Reviews and evaluates documentation and ensures that the policies and procedures of the Association, The

Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Person with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 and other relevant legislative requirements are upheld and monitored;
- Collaborate with personnel in ways that advocate for the person, team and agency;
- Works a flexible schedule, to be able to work alongside various staff teams. The hours of work will be flexible based on the needs of the services, including evenings, weekends, and an on call rotation:
The successful individual must have: a completed degree or diploma in the Social Services area; a minimum of two years direct care experience; valid drivers’ license, use of personal vehicle; current police check including vulnerable screening and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
