**How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team**:
Under the guidance of their Supervisor, Coordinator, Community Learning is responsible for the support of and delivery of community engagement programs and events at TRCA sites and community hubs, municipal/regional partner venues, and designated outdoor spaces.

The Coordinator, Community Learning is expected to provide excellent customer service to community engagement stakeholders. In addition, this position organizes tasks in support of the Community Learning team including resources and equipment, creating marketing materials, event promotions, social media, and publishing e-newsletters.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Support the coordination and logistics of community learning programs and events primarily within York Region.
- These programs include community tree and wildflower plantings, litter clean up events, leading nature hikes, community events, hosting homeowner workshops that focus on gardening, habitat building and stormwater landscaping projects and leading the TRCA’s Conservation Youth Corps program in York Region.
- Use environmental knowledge to deliver a variety of indoor and outdoor programs to engage a wide-range of community participants such as families, adults, youth, community groups, faith based organizations and newcomer groups.
- Under the guidance of their Supervisor, the Community Learning Coordinator collaborates with internal and external regional partners to select sites, plan resourcing and program activities and ensure all health and safety procedures are in place for collaborative community learning programs and events.
- Support other TRCA divisional community engagement or education programs and events.
- Prepare text for marketing materials and coordinate distribution of promotional materials.
- Regularly report program accomplishments and contribute to shared files and reporting.
- Work with the other Community Learning staff to share, clean, repair, and identify replacement of equipment and supplies.
- Work with other members of the community learning team to update, develop or enhance programs, events and delivery options.

**What will you need to succeed**:

- Post-secondary degree in Environmental Studies, Biology, Outdoor Recreation or other related degree and 1 - 2 years’ experience delivering community-based programs and events.
- Experience leading nature interpretation activities in the outdoors.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license in good standing.
- Active and current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening is required for this position.
- TRCA Orientation; AODA; Safety 24-7.
- In the field TRCA Fleet Vehicle and Trailer Training.
