The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship (WLRS) is accountable for integrated water, land and natural resource management and cross-sector legislation, policy, and objective setting for land and marine environments. Building on integrated land and resource management efforts in the past, the Ministry will seek to build a new vision in collaboration with natural resource ministries and First Nations that will embrace shared decision making on the land base. The Ministry will strengthen integration across the sector to mitigate, plan, respond and adapt our management practices, including a focus on effectively managing cumulative effects

This position is part of an interdisciplinary team charged with implementation of the provincial Cumulative Effects Framework. This position is focused on supporting greater consideration of cumulative effects assessment information in natural resource management and decision making.

**Job Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management or Planning field (e.g., Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Agrology, Geography), Law or Public Administration and 3 years of related experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management or Planning field (e.g., Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Agrology, Geography), Law or Public Administration and 5 years of related experience; OR
- A technical diploma in Natural Resource Management or Planning field (e.g., Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Agrology, Geography), Law or Public Administration and 7 years of **related experience**.
- **Related experience** is defined as, and must include the following:

- Experience in developing and writing policy, procedures, standards, guidance, regulations, or legislation in a resource management context; and/orPreference may be given to applicants who have training and/or experience with:

- Experience translating complex scientific and technical information into plain language text and simple diagrams or infographics for use by non-technical audiences.
- Experience working for/with First Nations, or in First Nations consultation, collaboration and relationship building.

Willingness Statement
- To travel as required to support provincial and regional meetings, as well as regional and district engagement on program initiatives.
