The Operations Controller is responsible for all Finance activities for Farnham manufacturing facility. He/she contributes to the strategic transformation and ongoing success of the business unit. He/she acts as a functional expert in manufacturing accounting and analysis, including cost and inventory accounting as well as operational analysis including budgeting and variance analysis.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
- Oversight & support of the Farnham manufacturing facility, key member of the site management team to drive continuous improvement and special projects.
- Maintenance of standard costing system, while continuing to evolve the system to provide information suited to business needs and according to Group policies.
- Finance lead for site on SAP and other Finance related projects/programs.
- Implement, track and evaluate results of an active cost reduction system, working collectively with site leadership to identify new opportunities and highlight success / failure modes.
- Identify, analyze & support capital expenditure needs required to improve profitability & competitiveness of the facility. Assure quality of fixed assets auxiliary.
- Provide business support to the plant leadership team.
- Implement and report metrics critical to the business & drive improvements, identifying and improving trends.
- Manage and develop finance staff in collaboration with business objectives.
- Prepare & distribute monthly analysis of spending variances following up with department reviews and action plans.
- Coordinate preparation and creation of the annual budget for manufacturing site.
- Monthly and quarterly forecasting of the P&L and balance sheet as it relates to site operations.
- Applies and make sure of conformity of Tarkett accounting manual.
- Responsible for any audits (internal/external/government) for Tarkett Canada.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

Experience requirements:

- Minimum 8 years of accounting/finance experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP system(s); SAP preferred.
- Bilingual (French and English).
- On-site work - 3 days/week.

Other qualifications:

- Heavy cost accounting know-how; transfer pricing and tax know-how could be an asset.
- SAP ERP experience.
- Previous experience having served as part of a business management team, union environment could be an asset.
- Demonstrates successes and accomplishments with continuous improvements and business process transformations;
- Strong organization, communication & leadership skills, ability to do presentations.
- Strategic and self starter.
- Takes initiative to identify and address opportunities and act as change agent.
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Master different information systems/tools.
