**Status**: Full-time -Nights

**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Production Manager, this full-time Production Supervisor position shall be responsible for efficient and effective supervision of all Plant Production activities of the Clayson plant.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the plant operations during your shift; this is a ‘hands-on’ position directly supervise all shift staff, including training, planning workloads / develop production schedules and disciplining where required. Emphasis is on time spent on the floor directly supervising to meet organization goals.
- Work closely with the production staff in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, GMP's and other necessary quality-related training
- Work towards Process Excellence & Lean Manufacture endeavours of the organization.
- Responsible for employees' hours & updating the Dayforce system
- Maintain Production PM Programs, generated daily operating, shrinkage & efficiency reports as well as daily / weekly production maps.
- Validate all production records
- Develop a co-operative team approach in the Production Department and work closely with Production Planners, Production Administration, Maintenance, Distribution, Quality Control and Plant Management.
- Responsible to maintain the Quality System and SQF code in the plant.
- Champion and enforce Health & Safety, proactive approach to prevent accidents in the plant. Member of the joint H&S committee.
- Provide flexible shift coverage & work overtime hours when required and weekend coverage on a rotational basis.
- Other projects as assigned by management

**Qualifications**:

- University degree, Dairy or Food Science or related is an asset
- Minimum five (5) years of related work experience in a HACCP /SQF regulated consumer packaged goods manufacturing environment is required, food industry preferred
- Minimum three (3) years of Supervisory experience is required
- Solid analytical skills and process improvement driven
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong computer skills, including Windows and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Effective communication skills, including written and verbal
- Relevant food or dairy processing experience
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- HTST pasteurizing systems as applied to a dairy processing plant, HTST pasteurizer course considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting abilities
- Able to create / develop SOP’s
- Good understanding of automated processing equipment including product formulation through ingredient preparation, weight monitoring, mixing and pasteurizing
- Familiar with HMI (Human Machine Interface) and able to navigate the systems
- DFO knowledge pertaining to communication and planning a definite asset.
