World class automotive restoration facility is looking to add to its team of skilled **Engine** **Machinists** to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.
A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of engine machining and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.
The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures in rebuilding and producing world-class engines.
**Responsibilities**
- Review engine project, document, and plan for the rebuild.
- Disassemble the engine.
- Itemize engine components for various operations.
- Take measurements and determine wear for rebuild or replace.
- Select appropriate machines based on the plans (e.g., boring/honing) and load machines and perform the required operations.
- Machine the components to the proper specifications and measurements.
- Clean all parts for inspection.
- Inspect all components and record all dimensions to ensure they meet the specifications.
- Assemble the engines with attention to detail and test final assembly.
**Requirements and skills**
- Proven experience as engine builder/machinist.
- Experience in using all equipment related to engine machining and rebuild (cylinder boring, decking, honing etc.).
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. micrometers and bore gauges) to take accurate measurements.
- Knowledge of engines and machining of engines.
- Ability to assemble engines and follow specifications.
- Good team player that works well in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
