Pool Technician

**Pool Technician** will be screening people entering the recreation center and will do
- Regularly checks water readings, filters, pump valves, tanks, gauges, and vents.
- Maintains pumps and motors at all pool facilities.
- Performs repair work in and around pools, filter room, chlorine room or on the pool decks.
- Supervises and participates in emergency repair situations.
- Vacuums pool and brushes deep end.
- Visually inspects all diving boards (bolts), ladders, starting blocks, guard chairs.
- Tests emergency lights in pool area and locker rooms to insure proper operation.
- Check underwater pool lights.
- Tests ground fault interrupters.
- Orders and receives supplies (ie: chlorine, muriatic acid).
- Grease water circulating pumps, filter pumps, air blower unit.
- On a seasonal basis, clean and drain pools; winterize pools; drain water lines.
- Vacuum and brushes the pool,if needed.
Mostly starting end of **April**. s/he will be screening people entering the recreation center and also maintaining the pool and other janitorial services if needed during working hours.
**Salary**: $22.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Experience**:
- pool maintenance: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Class G Licence (required)
Ability to Commute:
- Scarborough, ON (required)
