Plant Financial Analyst

**Job Summary**:
Responsible for assisting the plant controller and asst controller in performing a variety of accounting functions related to cost accounting, inventories, fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end closing and financial reporting.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Participates in month-end closing activities, which includes creating and posting journal entries under the direction of the Asst Controller.
- Assists Controller with the reports necessary for month end closing including income statements, bridge comments, footnotes, OPIS and MOR.
- Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with financial audits.
- Backup to Costing role performing maintenance of all tasks related to product costing in a manufacturing environment.
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable activities including analysis and communication to corporate.
- Maintenance of the 5S program for departmental activities including archiving and filing.
- Backup to payroll.
- Participates with the annual physical inventory and capital Asset inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- 2-4 years accounting and financial experience with cost accounting experience considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma with major in Business or Accounting
- CPA or CPA enrolment considered an asset.
