What is Dog Jogging/Walking?

If you live in or near Edmonton, you've likely noticed that many dogs are in need of some fresh air, especially now that their families are back to work and school. That's where we come in. We provide daily outings to ensure our clients' pups get the exercise and stimulation they need. Additionally, we offer New Puppy Support, socialization, cat sitting services, and weekend and holiday pet care.

A Different Approach to Dog Walking:
Unlike some dog walking companies that operate group walks, we prioritize the safety and individuality of each pet. We take dogs from the same household or individually for jogs or walks, offering a controlled environment that allows for socialization while ensuring the well-being of each dog.

Job Requirements:

- Genuine love for all animals
- Exceptional pet care skills and knowledge
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with staff and clients
- Tech-savviness, as you'll be using our scheduling app and other communication tools
- Availability at least three days a week (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm) and one weekend a month, including holidays
- Canadian citizenship or legal authorization to work in Canada for the next 12 months
- Minimum age of 18 (due to insurance)
- Access to a signal-enabled smartphone with a reliable data plan
- Personal vehicle ownership and willingness to navigate all weather conditions
- Ability to jog 6-10km in an hour and walk 3-10km daily

Starting wage: $15/hour (plus client tips). This job offers a great opportunity for supplemental income.

Part-time hours: 15-25 per week

**Salary**: $15.00 per hour

- We require a current clean criminal record check, are you willing to provide one?
- We service all of Edmonton, St.Albert, Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Beaumont, Leduc are you willing to drive to these locations?
- Do you have a reliable vehicle that you do not have to share with someone else on a daily basis?
- All Dog Jogs Staff must be able to run at least 6km in an hour. How fast can you run 6km?
- How often do you jog normally?
- What makes you a good fit to work for Dog Jogs?
- What would you do if the dog you were jogging with kept sitting down on your way home and you had 15 minutes to complete the service and needed to get to the next dog?
- You happen to have a day off on a random Tuesday? One of your coworkers messages to see if you can cover their shift as they are having car troubles. What do you do? How does it make you feel?
- Where do you currently work and what about your role could transfer to being a Dog Jogger?
- Tell us about your travel plans for the next year
- Charlie's notes say that he is tentative about new people. When you meet Charlie for the first time what body language are you looking for as a sign to approach and/or stop approaching?
- Tell me about your experience with reactive dogs.
- This position is part-time but hours are not guaranteed. Our hours are from 9am-5pm. What is your availability?
- A client messages to give you a heads up that their dog has been sick and asks if could you update them on how their dogs' poop looks today or if they go? Do you reply to them before your service, yes or no? Why?
