Accounting Technician

**Accounting Technician**
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Technician is responsible for accounting and administrative support functions including but not limited to:
- Processing accounts payable
- Compilation of expense information as required for grants and other funding;
- Tracking and monitoring of capital expenditures;
- Monthly account reconciliation;
- Reviewing and reconciling vendor statements;
- Communication with vendors;
- Support for:
- Customer invoicing, receipt of payments and collections;
- Payroll processing;
- Remittances;
- Inventory counts and costing;
- Monthly reporting support;
- Statement reconciliations;
- Participate in year end and audits.
Qualifications:
- A degree or diploma in accounting or business administration with an applicable major preferred;
- A minimum of three years of experience with accounting or bookkeeping responsibility;
- Proficient in the use of Quickbooks Online (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience with ERP software, specifically Epicor, would be an asset;
- Experience in payroll processing would be an asset.
- Ability to analyze and problem solve;
- Strong time management skills;
- Highly organized;
- The ability to work as part of a team in an entrepreneurial environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
