**PURCHASING SPECIALIST**

***:
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for executing TransForm’s purchasing process, within the policies and procedures and consistent with the requirements for quality, quantity and price for the participating hospitals in the Erie-St Clair region. This position also initiates, investigates and implements programs and procedures involving the cost reduction of purchased goods and services.

**Location**: Chatham, ON (Hybrid - Onsite and Remote Work)

**Employment Type**:Temporary, Full-Time until February 2024

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:

- Places orders required utilizing computerized software for the daily operation of all departments including performing duties such as receiving stock requisitions, sourcing suppliers, negotiating price, and co-coordinating delivery
- Acts as a resource to provide information to a variety of internal and external clients on material resources procedures and collaborates with clients on problems with materials and/or services
- Conducts regular research to identify and present business cases for new and innovative products/equipment/technology, which may enhance or improve patient care or safety of staff. Remains current with latest trends and practice issues.
- Ensures that goods have technical approval and comply with established policy and procedures to prevent potential safety hazards and incompatibility with established standards.
- Liaises with customers to clearly understand their purchasing and supply requirements and works with Customer Service Specialist to coordinate and prioritize the processing of customer requisitions.
- Responds to the changing requirements of customers, and coordinates the development of best practice guidelines and performance targets and follows up with customer issues.
- Evaluates TransForm service performance.
- Perform all supply chain functions in compliance with Broader Public Sector (BPS) Directives

**MUST- HAVES**:

- Two (2) year college diploma in Supply Chain, Business or related discipline
- Two to four (2-4) years’ experience in purchasing or related field

**WE VALUE**:

- Healthcare experience an asset

**OTHER CONDITIONS**:

- Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position: exposed to stress and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must be able to travel within the Southwestern Ontario area, when required
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends, when required
- Must be able to work shifts Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 5:00pm

**Experience**:

- Purchasing: 2 years (preferred)
