**Responsibilities & Duties**

Perform general kitchen and/or servery tasks to assist cooks and dietary aides, including:

- Cleaning of all equipment, surfaces, dishes, etc.;
- Organizing and/or putting away orders;
- Doing light food preparation work (desserts, salads, sandwiches, etc.);
- Serving plated food items to residents based on their diet/preferences;
- Maintain a safe environment at all times;
- Use provided personal protective equipment;
- Report all injuries and hazards to supervisor immediately;
- Completing office tasks related to the department under the supervision of the manager;
- Completing sanitation, fine dining, food satisfaction, and snack cart audits;
- Completing special projects in relations to the food service department under the supervision of the manager;
- Other reasonable requests from management.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents
- Good understanding of chemical and equipment use
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Previous food service experience an asset

This position is funded under the Canada Summer Jobs program, and to be eligible, youth must:

- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
