The Product Manager will develop merchandising plans and tactics at the category level that aligns with the objectives of the brand. Through constant monitoring of inventory and sales, this person should suggest actions, participate, and understand in pre-season and in-season tactics and prepare analysis for the store ops team.
- Drive current/future growth of the department through the development of merchandise assortments.
- Quickly adapt to changes/trends occurring in the business and marketplace.
- Manage overall store inventory levels based on store capacity, attributes, seasonality and selling curves. Monitor flow of initial assortments as well as reorders to stores by classification, delivery/group and by style whenever necessary.
- Take ownership of warehouse inventory and aged inventory by door. Be informed and highlight any shipping issues that may affect business.
- Understand and analyze competition and marketplace to enhance customer focus and develop innovative ideas.
- Decide which products to include in each collection, considering factors like seasonality, trends, and customer demand.
- Ensure that the assortment meets customer preferences and aligns with the company’s strategy.
- Ensure a correct and thoughtful purchase of the assortment.
- Develops and maintains merchandise plans at a category level based on experience, historic results, and discussions with members of the merchandising team.
- Partner with planning to recap the business by door level and create best seller/worst reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to allow for thorough analysis of the business.
- Effectively and efficiently lead business meetings; communicate, influence, and negotiate with cross-functional teams to execute vision.
- Work in conjunction with planning to manage the OTB in terms of receipts, sales, margin, markdowns and weeks of stock.
- Participate in store visits (as needed).

**Key requirements**:

- 1-3 years of retail buying, planning, allocation, or analytical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
- Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, including v-lookups and pivot tables, Microsoft Dynamics AX is an asset.
- Must be comfortable handling and manipulating large data sets.
- Must be highly attentive to detail due to the nature of the job.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
