**Role Specifics**

Clients include public agencies (municipalities), private developers of residential and commercial lands, First Nation clients and engineers.

**More specifically, the position will involve carrying out the following duties;**
- Conducting natural environmental field investigations/data collection;
- Evaluations of biophysical site conditions;
- Conducting detailed review of land use history;
- Preparing field reports, project reports and proposals;
- Supporting species at risk surveys and permitting;
- Conducting stream assessments and providing recommendations regarding stream channel design potential impacts,
- Assisting with Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and Environmental Assessments (EA);
- Assisting with natural heritage studies and permitting advisory services for our public sector, private sector and First Nation clients;
- Preparing and authoring field reports, project reports and proposals;
- Providing support for senior environmental professionals and engineers; and,
- Other duties as required.

**Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications**

**The following qualifications, experience and skills are required**:

- Degree in University or College Degree/Diploma program in Ecology or similar (completed degree/diploma is an asset)
- Knowledge of Southern Ontario Fisheries and Regulating Policy (Fisheries Act, Endangered Species Act, Fish and Wildlife Act)
- Experience with ESC Inspection and working with contractors
- All fisheries related certifications (OSAP, Fish ID, OBBN, CISEC, etc.)
- A good understanding and related consulting experience with fish and fish habitat
- Proven technical writing skills with the ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills are required as well as an aptitude for client liaison
- Be comfortable and feel safe working in and around water, outside and in all weather conditions
- Have computer design skills in AutoCAD
- Have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Outlook
- Have a strong determination to set and manage priorities to meet all deadlines
