Thrift Store Clerk

The Store Clerk/Sales Associate provides customer service, sorts incoming products, and assists the manager in maintaining all store operations.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Contributes to meeting store sales budgets by maintaining customer service standards.
- Implements store layout plans to attract customers, including window displays and merchandise displays; ensures store attractiveness through “tidy maintenance.”
- Replenishes inventory levels based on the Supervisor’s directions.
- Contributes to inventory control by retrieving, sorting, and pricing as per directions.
- Protects the store from inventory shrinkage by close visual monitoring.
- Contributes to the safety of staff and customers (e.g., snow removal, clear fire exits, no obstacles inside/outside the store, clean spillage, and maintains store cleanliness.
- Takes responsibility for accurately completing all customer transactions, including visas, debits, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Highschool Diploma, or an alternative level of education and experience.
- Three months of prior related experience, preferably in retail.

**HOURS**:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

**PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES**:

- The performance of the job requires continuously standing for long periods of time, frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing and pulling, lifting, kneeling and entering data for transactions.
- The performance of the job requires visual monitoring and frequently working with numbers
- Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
- Attention to occasional computer work
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility.
- Background check consent.
- A clear vulnerable sector screening.
- A clean driver's abstract.
- Completing our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
