Under the supervision of the Director, National Pharmacy Operations, the Equipment & Assets Manager is responsible for overseeing the fleet of equipment across Bayshore’s national network of sites. Responsibilities include ensuring both rental and asset equipment is properly maintained, repaired and available for use as needed. The Equipment & Assets Manager also liaises with departments across the operations to ensure equipment needs are met; and will be responsible for procuring new equipment as needed. The Equipment & Assets Manager is also responsible for overseeing the disposal of medication and returned waste from patient use.

Reporting into the Equipment & Assets Manager is the Equipment Management Team and Equipment Reprocessing Team.

The Equipment at BSRx includes but not limited to: Infusion pumps, feeding pumps, NPWT pumps, all pump accessories, IV poles, TPN compounder and accessories, sterile hoods, refrigerators, and any other medical devices that are considered assets for BSRx.

This role covers all assets owned by Bayshore Specialty Rx (BSRx) in any BSRx facility or subcontractor sites.

**This role will be a full-time on-site role.**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Read and understand contract obligations and how they relate to business operations.
- Develop thorough understanding of internal operations including the environment and operating conditions.
- Equipment maintenance & inspection: Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair equipment to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety regulations; conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues or safety hazards and take action to address; this includes a preventative maintenance program.
- Inventory Management, allocation and disposal: Track and maintain records of all equipment, including purchase dates, maintenance schedules, and repairs; Coordinate with departments or teams to assess equipment needs and allocate resources; accordingly, dispose of equipment once end-of-life period has been reached.
- Procurement/budgeting; forecasting future needs and expenses, connecting with vendors to negotiate competitive pricing models.
- Training and documentation; Provide training to staff on equipment usage, maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Vendor management; Establish and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers, ensuring timely repairs and cost-effective services.
- Regulatory compliance: ensure policies and processes are in compliance with federal, provincial and local regulations (ie. Medical Device Establishment License, Guideline C4 The Management of Biomedical Waste in Ontario).
- Reporting: develop reporting requirements and complete and analysis on trends to create action plans to address concerning areas.
- Coordinate and be accountable for certification and validation of all equipment.
- Develop process flow charts, standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and work instructions (WI) in various formats (Visio, Work, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Manage competing resources and priorities.
- Ability to ensure timely and effective execution of multiple and simultaneous projects.
- Self-organized and has ability to prioritize tasks and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Collect and record contract data based on department protocol
- Participate in improvement initiatives with department leads, with a focus on Patient Safety, Risk Assessment, and business efficiency.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.

Job Qualification

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- Certification in Biomedical or Biotechnology or related a discipline.
- 3-5 years of management experience.
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Related experience in a health care environment, Ontario LHINs or other Provincial Agencies is an asset.

**Other Skills, Abilities and Requirements**
- Administrative or executive level writing skills; Fluency in written and spoken English (bilingualism is an asset).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Technical documentation skills, including proficiency in maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation related to equipment maintenance, repairs, and compliance as well as reporting.
- Knowledge of Sterilization and Aseptic Techniques essential for maintaining and handling medical equipment in a clean environment.
- Understanding of healthcare settings, patient care needs, and the importance of equipment reliability and accuracy in medical procedures.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
