Canadian Running is a dynamic sports media company dedicated to providing engaging and insightful content to track and field enthusiasts worldwide. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Host of The Shakeout Podcast.

**Job Description**:
As the Host of The Shakeout Podcast, you will play a pivotal role in creating high-quality audio and written content that covers various aspects of the track and field world. You will have the opportunity to interact with athletes, coaches and people in the running community to produce compelling and informative podcast episodes and articles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Host and produce engaging podcast episodes focused on track and field-related topics, including athlete interviews, event previews and recaps, training techniques, and industry trends.
- Conduct in-depth research and prepare well-crafted interview questions and discussion points for podcast episodes.
- Collaborate with the production team to edit and finalize podcast episodes for release across multiple platforms.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in running, including major events, athlete performances, and industry news.
- Engage with our audience on social media platforms, responding to comments and questions and promoting podcast episodes and articles.
- Collaborate with other members of the Canadian Running team to brainstorm ideas and develop new podcast series and article concepts.
- Attend events, conferences, and interviews as needed to gather content and build relationships within the industry.

Qualifications:

- A passion for running and an understanding for track and field and the sport's intricacies, including knowledge of various events, athletes and competitions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and captivate listeners/readers.
- Experience hosting or appearing on podcasts, with a natural on-air presence and the ability to conduct insightful interviews.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and compelling content for online publication.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, Adobe Audition) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate podcast recording schedules and event coverage.
- A degree in journalism, communications, sports management or a related field is preferred.
