**Opening Statement**:
Located in picturesque Gananoque, the Thousand Islands Boat Museum engages visitors with the special traditions and culture found along the Canadian shores of the St. Lawrence River. From adventures on the river in antique boats to dynamic in-water displays, the TIBM brings the river to life by telling stories through boats. Local marine heritage gets showcased in a whole new way in the recently completed $4.5 million dollar Boathouse, where visitors can experience river life through lively exploration.

**Position Summary**:
**Applicants must be 18 years of age by start date**

The successful applicant will:

- Experience making specialty coffees is an asset, however not necessary
- Complete sales related tasks and retail operations
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks for café clientele
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently
- Observe relevant health and safety standards
- Help, support, and contribute to daily museum operations
- Assist with marketing, education, and membership initiatives and activities
- Create daily content for social media
- Help organize all aspects of events
- Ensure that each visitor’s experience at the Boat Museum is engaging and meaningful and that all questions are answered accurately
- Provide orientation and information so that every visitor leaves with a greater understanding and appreciation for the rich history of the region
- Demonstrated interest and intrigue in Canadian and local history considered an asset
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience creating digital content is an asset
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or have refugee status in Canada
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment
