We are seeking highly motivated individuals who will play a support role in the credit structuring, execution, quality and growth of the Technology and Innovation Banking Group portfolio while maintaining a strong client-centric focus throughout.

Reporting to the leadership team of the Group and partnering with senior members of the Technology and Innovation Banking team, the Associate will actively participate in a wide variety of complex lending mandates, both bilateral and syndicated, which include cash flow, venture, and M&A financing, as well as fund banking.

**Your Job**
- Support the day-to-day management of the Technology and Innovation Banking credit portfolio and assist with the execution of new lending opportunities and mandates as needed.
- Perform high-quality credit analysis and deal structuring activities in accordance with Bank standards while partnering with the Relationship Managers (RM’s) in managing and growing an existing portfolio of complex lending relationships.
- Perform transaction financial modeling and Borrower Risk Ratings on a portfolio of existing and prospective clients.
- Independently manage an assigned portfolio of Annual Reviews while working collaboratively with RM’s on more complex renewals.
- Assist RM’s by working closely with financial advisors, venture capital and private equity sponsors, as well as internal banking partners (i.e. derivative hedging, Private Banking 1859, loan syndications and investment banking) to perform required due diligence on prospective new transaction opportunities.
- Work in close collaboration with other Associates and Client Account Representatives on credit submission requests and ensure that client and collateral files are updated in a timely manner.
- Assist the group’s leadership team, as required, in ensuring the credit quality of the Technology and Innovation Banking group portfolio.
- Participate and assist in special projects, as required.

**Your Team**

Within the Commercial & Wealth Management 1859 sector, you are part of the team specializing in the Technology and Innovation industry and you report to the Head - Technology & Innovation Group. Our team stands out for its expertise in the field and on the market.

**Basic requirements**
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
- Professional designation(s) (CFA, CPA, CA) and/or an advanced degree is considered a strong asset.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Financial Markets, Corporate or mid-market Commercial Banking.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of financial modelling. Working knowledge of S&P Capital IQ considered an asset.
- Proficiency in the creation of PowerPoint presentations, confidential information memoranda and other written documents.
- Strong knowledge of credit underwriting, loan structuring and financial statement analysis.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- An enthusiastic, co-operative and hardworking attitude with a desire to learn and continue to grow within the Technology and Innovation Banking team
