**Job Description Summary**:
The Process Development Department is looking for a highly motivated Upstream Cell culture Associate in the Biologics team. The Biologics team is responsible for technology transfer of new antibodies and recombinant proteins, while creating capacity and maintaining a large existing portfolio used in STEMCELLs Cell Separation and media products. The associate will work in a dynamic and collaborative team which deals with multiple competing priorities, steers efficiently through prioritization challenges, and has a learning and growth mindset.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Contribute towards development and implementation of scalable cell culture and protein expression processes with supervision (e.g. monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, etc.) to meet project timelines
- Execute upstream process development studies through high throughput screening methodologies and scale up to bench and pilot scale operations
- Perform routine protein analytical techniques e.g. SDS-PAGE, ELISA
- Author process development reports, organize and interpret results, and present data at meetings
- Contribute to the technology transfer of developed processes to manufacturing production facilities
**Knowledge and Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline with 1-4 years of relevant experience
- Hands on experience with mammalian cell culture
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of downstream process development and/or analytical sciences is an asset
- Familiarity with software such as MS Excel, Google Sheets, JMP, GraphPad is desirable
