**Summary**:
Clinical Counsellor is responsible for case management and providing resource-based counselling to individuals and their families with youth or children under the age of 18 in the home who are experiencing difficulties in parenting, family dynamics/relationships, other types of crisis or mild to moderate mental health and related concerns. The work takes place in the office or virtually at the preference of the client.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide family counselling to individuals and families to support the clients in managing current risks and to increase their effectiveness in dealing with future concerns and/or challenges. This will include:

- Working collaboratively with the persons served to provide case management and risk assessment, goal setting, planning, counselling, closure and where appropriate, follow up.
- Participating in Integrated Case Management, and/or acting as case manager, to work with the person(s) served to coordinate/collaborate with other service providers and stakeholders.
- Maintaining appropriate and timely documentation, client information system and MCF tracking systems.
- For those who participate in the Internship Program, providing instruction, regular supervision of assigned interns, ensuring the Intern’s adherence to agency policy and practices.
- Participating in regular quality assurance reviews, case and team consultation/supervision and meetings as required.
- Participating in program development.
- Liaising and referral with community agencies, committees, professionals.
- Participate in and support agency activities, vision, mission and values.
- Ensure that work practices comply with agency health and safety standards, program policies and procedures and administrative records are complete, timely and accurate.

**Qualifications Required**:

- Clinical Counsellor will have a graduate degree in counselling, social work, psychology or a related field.
- Clinical Counsellor will have at least 3 years counselling experience specifically with families.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Is knowledgeable about family counselling theories and practices, risk assessment and case management.
- Speaking a second language is considered a strong asset for this position.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to engage clients.
- Demonstrates creativity with case planning, program development and supervision.
- Shows flexibility in responding to changing conditions and is a committed team player.

Start Date: Immediately

Location: Tricities

Hours of work: 21 hours per week (_flexible to be scheduled with supervisor, some evenings may be required_)
