**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Complying with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements, legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs
- Manages plant managers at manufacturing facilities to ensure that the production of the JELD-WEN product is produced in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensures that standards for product quality, equipment and operational performance is maintained and enhanced, and that cost effective technology is used to maximize productivity utilizing SQDCI, TPS, OTD and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, activities and procedures.
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, visual controls and plant performance measures.
- Communicates to the plant managers and other top plant personnel new Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies, including those established by Engineering, R&D, the VP of Operations, and corporate headquarters.
- Advises plant managers on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, grievances, etc. Ensures that plant managers and supervisors are adhering to JELD-WEN policies and procedures and administering practices in a fair and equitable manner consistent with same.
- Ensures that fixed assets are preserved. Initiates recommendations to the Vice President of Ops (VPO) on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property consistent with corporate goals, objectives and KPI’s.
- Coordinates plant activities through strategic planning with the VPO and Plant Managers (PMs) to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with corporate goals/objectives.
- Serve as a conduit between corporate and the various manufacturing facilities standards, rules, and programs to develop and control profits, plans, and operational budgets.
- Oversees the implementation of cost-effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Provides direction, development and leadership to Plant Management.
- Hires, trains, develops and appraises staff effectively. Takes corrective action as necessary in a timely manner, in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources, Legal, and/or corporate offices as needed on same.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field, and at least ten (10) years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the window and door industry. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of management principles and controls relevant to manufacturing operations, preferably in the door and window industry.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing process improvement techniques including, but not limited to, SQDCI, TPS, OTD, and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and methodologies.
- LEAN manufacturing and/or production process experience a must.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and manufacturing schematics.
- Experience in working with manufacturing-based technology and the ability to effectuate operational changes as needed and as directed by corporate offices.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting, purchasing, operations and personnel administration and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced leadership, interpersonal, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and drive manufacturing process improvement techniques through the production process in a skillful and deliberate manner.
- Ability to read technical procedures; read and write advanced correspondence.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Sound knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include corporate personnel and Pl
