**Do you have a PSW (Personal Support Worker), HSW (Home Support Worker) certificate, Paramedic Diploma, 1st year of Nursing completed or are an internationally trained Nurse or Doctor?**

**Community PSWs/HSWs are now being offered a temporary $3.00/hour wage enhancement for patient care hours from the provincial government This is your opportunity to make a difference in your community**

**As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) your typical day will involve the following;**
- Responsible for attending to Personal Hygiene care of clients such as bathing, showering, sponge baths, nail care, hair care etc
- Assist clients/patient with toilet needs, grooming and/ or partial and full dressing
- Responsible for assisting with medication administration
- Attend to clients Meal preparation and feeding requirements
- Responsible for assisting with house courses including cleaning bathroom after assisting with shower and completing dishes upon meal prep completion
- Responsible carrying out transfer using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques to carry out safe lifts and/or transfers
- Responsible for providing cognitive, social and emotional support to patients/ residents
- Responsible for training and supporting HSWs
- Perform duties as outlined and any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

**How to succeed in this role**:

- Completion of Personal Support Worker Certificate/Diploma or a Nursing student, Foreign trained Nurse/Medical Profession
- Must be able to travel between client/ patients’ homes
- Experience working in the community/ similar work environment is an asset
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to work under pressure as well as have excellent problem resolution skills
- Must be flexible to work multiple shifts including evenings and weekends
- Must pass a Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable
