This facility accommodates patients who no longer require hospital care, but who need healthcare support until they transition to another location in the community.
**Cooks will be responsible for the following aspects of the patient meal experience**:
- Receiving and stocking food, supplies, and inventory
- Cold preparation of foods (such as sandwiches, salads, etc)
- Assembling plates of ordered food and maintaining proper plate stock in the cooler
- Preparation of hot food items
- Preparing/warming meals
- Prepping meal trays for delivery and ensuring all meals meet patients’ dietary requirements prior to delivery
- At times, assisting in delivering meals to patient rooms (ie: when short staffed)
- Collecting trays and dishes post meals
- Washing dishes and post meal prep clean up
**Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required**:
- Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy work load
- Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required
- Good customer service orientation with previously demonstrated customer service experience
- Good command of English language, both verbal and written; ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Excellent problem solving and basic math skills
- Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food considered an asset
- Must have Current Food Safety Level 1 Certification
