Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 180,000 sq feet of facilities that are focused on composite, metal or hybrid sub-assemblies for major aeronautical players and innovating global solutions.
**Role Description**
Reporting to the Production Team Leader, the Painting Operator is responsible for priming and top coating composite parts. The operator embraces a culture defined by safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.
**In this role, you will**:
- Prime and topcoat parts per specific work instructions and customer specifications.
- Support the finishing.
- Perform self-quality checks.
- Identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.
- Record results (e.g., production and inspection) per work instructions where required.
- Meet schedule and production requirements.
- Follow and promote safety rules, such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection where required.
**You have**:
- Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years' experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- High attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, quick learner.
- Ability to use of power tools, cutting tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or blueprints.
- Ability to follow demonstrated steps.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Manual dexterity/coordination
- Physical demands include lifting and moving material weighing up to 50lbs and wearing a respirator and other protective equipment.
- Organization: Ability to keep track of various parts and job orders and manage time spent on different tasks.
- Cleanliness: Ability to keep a clean workspace (parts can be sensitive to foreign materials)
- Safety-Minded: Put safety first and realize how important it is to take care around certain machinery/equipment.
- Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- Must be willing to work overtime (as requested).
