**Construction Inspector/Project Coordinator**

**(full-time permanent position)**

**Location: Guelph, Ontario**

**This position involves (but not limited to)**:

- On site construction inspection of long duration and short duration projects ranging from emergency power systems, water / wastewater facilities and linear infrastructure.
- Review of contract documents and specifications.
- Review of shop drawings, progress payment certificates, change order requests.
- Attendance at construction site meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes and various correspondence with Contractors/Owners/Approval Agencies.
- Assist in Project Coordination duties including developing cost estimates, construction specifications and contract documents.
- Certain assignments may require that you work outside of normal work hours.
- Other duties as assigned/required.

**Professional Knowledge and **Q**ualifications**:

- Education in a civil or mechanical engineering program or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years related experience.
- Strong ability to work independently, and to integrate with the design and inspection teams.
- Possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem-solving skills; have an approachable enthusiastic interpersonal style.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to meet contractor schedule and project deadlines.
- Desire to learn in a fast-paced environment; and
- Must have a valid driver's license.

**Considered Assets**:

- Eligibility for P.Eng. or OACETT designations.
- Fundamental knowledge of piping, pumps and tanks.
- Aptitude to work with the following software packages: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of Contract Documents, Construction Act and Municipal standards; and
- Experience with consulting services working in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
