Painter

**Hours**:
Four days a week, Monday to Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am (10-hour shifts)

**Job Overview**:
A painter’s role in our structural steel shop is to prepare and prime all metal surfaces as per project specification to ensure delivery targets are met as per schedule and according to priorities set by shop foreman.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:

- Transfer and receive structural steel components in the paint booth
- Prepare metal surface ensuring they are free from any imperfections
- Adherence to all health and safety standards and regulations
- Ensure adequate levels of paint and other consumables is maintained
- Maintaining tools and equipment
- Being proactive by liaising with shop foreman to forecast tasks to ensure preparedness and thereby minimizing delays
- Keeping a tidy workspace

**To qualify for this position**:

- Previous professional experience as a painter
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- WHMIS Certification is an asset
