Primary Duties
Reporting to the Supervisor of Services and Gas Operations, the Serviceperson will conduct and ensure safe installation, removal of water and electric metering equipment. The incumbent will investigate and resolve water and electric issues. The incumbent will perform maintenance on large water meters, perform water shut offs and water meter testing. The incumbent may be asked to assist in the Gas Operations department, the Metering department & the Water & Wastewater department with appropriate training and guidance.
Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma.
- Experience in a utility environment around water and electric will be considered an asset.
- Leadership, team player, organized, resourceful and self-directed.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Electrical and basic plumbing experience will be considered an asset.
- Operator in Training (OIT) Certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection will be preferred, or the ability to obtain OIT certification within 18 months of employment.
- Experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Share Point).
- Ability to obtain A Restricted or D class driver’s license with Z endorsement within 12 months of employment

Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment
- Maintain at minimum a valid “G” driver’s license throughout employment. A Restricted or D class driver’s license with Z endorsement is an asset, and will be required within 12 months of employment.
- Rotational On-Call and the ability to work Overtime as required.
