The owners of a landmark boutique Inn in Kingston, Ontario are currently looking to hire a highly motivated breakfast cook & server to join our team. This part-time role would be to prepare and serve breakfast to 2-8 guests; Monday through Wednesday as core part of our guest experience.
- Must be punctual and able to arrive without fail at 7am.
- Be able to perform physical duties that include walking, climbing stairs, bending and moderate lifting.
- Possess a high level of personal integrity, professionalism and maturity.
- Ensure that all B&B procedures are followed and assist in the development of new best practices to enhance guest experience, food & beverage service and efficient operations of the property.
- Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor at all times and create an atmosphere of excellence and warmth for guests and team-mates.
- Be able to communicate and problem-solve professionally and respectfully with guests and colleagues.
- Be well-versed and up-to-date with WHMIS, Work Place Health & Safety & Public Health food handling certificates.
**Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
Follow a culinary plan to ensure quality satisfaction with both long
- and short-term goals
Enhancing food quality by creating standards for other team members
Follow precise menu and plating techniques
Cook and serve 2 menu options per day to in-house guests (2-8 persons during shoulder season)
Working with the leadership to ensure food, beverage, and labour budgets are maintained and monitored
Ensuring all kitchen equipment is running efficiently and arranging repairs or new parts when required
Looking over operating costs of running the kitchen to ensure food, equipment, and staffing budgets are not exceeded.
Licenses:
- Ontario Drivers License (preferred)
- Smart Serve Certificate (preferred)
- Food Handers Certificate (required)
- WHMIS Certificate (required)
- Work Place Health & Safety Certificate (required)
