Support Staff Full-time Replacement Position

(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)

This Admissions Clerk will have frequent client contact, in person, by phone, and electronically, responding to questions, informing applicant of decisions, advising applicants on appropriate action according to the applicant's background and interpreting admission requirements, selection criteria and scores for the client. The incumbent also participates in the document management process and assists other units of the Registrar's Office as required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Organizes and prepares data for the admission decision process
- Ensures that all qualified applicants have met the published Ministry and College admission requirements and selection criteria
- Records applicants' status changes on the Student Information System and initiates all correspondence with applicants
- Guides applicants and prospective applicants on suitable program choices and alternatives
- Investigates and responds to client complaints
- Co-ordinates communication with applicants, ensuring that all required correspondence and enclosures are sent
- Calculates applicant’s grades using transcripts received from applicants through the EDI process or by mail and enters the grades in the applicant’s electronic Student Information System file
- Assists in the scanning and filing of applicant documentation into the document management process
- Enters new Part-time program details into the Student Information System as part of the new program activation process
- Formats and distributes the Weekly Admissions Statistics reports
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Two-year Diploma in General Business, Marketing, Customer Service, Social Media, Sales, Communications, or other business office related field
- Minimum two years of practical experience in working with students/client services is required
- Minimum of two years experience working with a large database system
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, dynamic office working environment with cyclical fluctuations in tasks as part of a larger team and individually
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating respect and empathy when working with a diverse group of students and staff
- Maintain a high level of integrity and quality while providing reliable, consistent, and professional service
- Demonstrate an aptitude for learning new tasks and systems as they evolve within the Office of the Registrar
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and demanding situations
