**Algonquin Park Outfitter and Wilderness Adventure Company**

**Position**: Outfitter - Canoe and Check-in Crew
**Dates**:June, July, August OR to the end of October for the fall season with training for approximately 4 days training in May. Additional work: is available (last 2 weeks of April, and all of May)
**Organization**: Voyageur Quest Outfitting
**Location**:Algonquin Park -Access pt #1, Algonquin Park, East of South River, Ontario

**Benefits**: on-site lakeside shared accommodation with other canoe guides and outfitter crew members. Access to canoes & equipment during days off and/or after work

Voyageur Quest is a wilderness tour company that specializes in Algonquin Park. Our facilities - the Algonquin Log Cabin, the Algonquin Cottages and Outpost, Islands, and our Outfitter are all located at Algonquin Park’s northwest corner at Access Pt #1.

**Outfitter - Canoe and Check-in Crew**

As Canoe and Check-in Crew you will be responsible for assisting customers in setting up their canoe and gear rental needs at our outfitter. Each Outfitter and Check-in Crew team member will have both front and back-of-house responsibilities.

**Front-of-House responsibilities will include**:

- Client-facing payment and booking processing
- Canoe and gear rentals
- Outfitter store purchases
- Inventory management
- Cabin and cottage customer check-ins
- Ongoing communications with the office and guides
- Store and site upkeep
- Assisting customers with pre-trip planning, route recommendations, paddle lessons, & tips
- Capture quality customer/canoe photos for both promotional and documentation purposes.
- Assisting Voyageur Quest's guided programs/trips wherever needed
- Occasional: Sunrise starts with breakfast meal preparations or BBQ dinners
- Possible shuttles

**Back of House responsibilities will include either**:

- General site maintenance & upkeep of cottages and facilities
- Operating motorboats
- Assisting with canoe repair and maintenance **OR**:

- Packing gear & food for canoe trips & complete outfitting packages **OR**:

- Supporting our primary cleaner with cottage turnovers and cleans

**Applicants should have the following**:

- Retail experience
- A love for the outdoors
- Enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to follow daily task lists effectively
- Effective time management
- Ability to lift and load canoes
- Ability to demonstrate best practices of canoe launch and paddling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Canoe tripping experience
- G driver license
- working knowledge of Gmail and the ability to learn database entry
- Multitasking skills

**Additional assets include**:

- Ability to repair canoe and gear
- Ability to drive a trailer
- Boating experience and or boating licence
- Ability in at least one of the following areas: 1. follow lists to pack out gear and food, place online orders/in-person food shopping 2. basic property and site maintenance skills or 3. cottage/cabin cleaning

**Contracts Available**:
Training - May approx 4 days dates tbd
Seasonal Contracts - June 1-mid-October, 2025 OR June 1-Sept 5, 2025

**Compensation**:approx $18.00-22.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

**Other**:Includes shared lakeside seasonal guide accommodation and cooking facilities

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 3-6 months

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
