**Who is the People and Culture Officer?**

The People and Culture Officer is central to fostering a vibrant and inclusive organizational culture. From talent acquisition to performance management, they oversee diverse HR functions. Focused on payroll, they meticulously process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely responses to inquiries. They handle essential documentation like ROEs and T4s and collaborate with Finance for year-end processing and budgeting. Beyond payroll, they support recruitment, onboarding, and AEDIJ strategies. They facilitate performance reviews and conduct employee engagement surveys. Managing HR systems and compliance, they maintain training records and promote gender equality. Providing crucial admin support, they contribute to strategic planning and team development, advocating for employee well-being and organizational effectiveness.

You are interested in this role because you are a detail-oriented and strategic human resources professional with a passion for promoting anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion and justice (AEDIJ) in the workplace. You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to effectively engage with employees at all levels and address their needs and concerns. As a compassionate and empathetic person, you understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all human resource matters. You have a strong understanding of human resource best practices, employment laws, and collective agreement provisions, enabling you to ensure compliance and provide guidance on people and culture-related issues. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite is essential for managing human resource administration tasks efficiently. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to support the implementation of the organization's AEDIJ strategy and goals, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll, human resource system administration or a human resource supporting role.
- Demonstrated experience with various HR and payroll systems, including benefits administrator portals, HRIS and payroll administrator portal essential.
- Experience with and understanding of payroll principles, as well as hands-on experience administering payroll through an established payroll system.
- Strong understanding of human resource best practices, employment laws, and collective agreement provisions
- Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice.
- Functionally bilingual in English and French.
- Experience in working in a cross-cultural setting.

De l'acquisition des talents à la gestion des performances, il/elle supervise diverses fonctions en relations humaines. Se concentrant sur la paie, il/elle traite méticuleusement la paie bihebdomadaire, en veillant à l'exactitude des données et à la rapidité des réponses aux demandes de renseignements. Ils/Elles s'occupent des documents essentiels tels que les RE et les T4 et collaborent avec les services financiers pour le traitement de fin d'année et l'établissement du budget. Au-delà de la paie, ils/elles soutiennent les stratégies de recrutement, d'intégration et d'AEDIJ.
