**Overview**:
The Tasting Room is a major source of revenue for Lighthouse Brewing Company. Managing the Tasting Room and the staffing of events is an active, front line position where you will be responsible for providing our guests with a top-notch experience - inside and out. Proactivity, attention to detail, and a drive to provide an exceptional customer experience are key attributes needed for this role.

Being outgoing, energetic, passionate, knowledgeable, curious and motivated to enjoy every day and pass that enthusiasm onto our customers and guests are all integral responsibilities of the Tasting Room Manager (TRM).

The ideal TRM is a friendly, professional, articulate, and intelligent service-oriented leader who can motivate and lead a team of brewery ambassadors, handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and maximize down times - all the while providing excellent customer service. You must take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, organised, professional and FUN brewery tasting space and you must LOVE Craft Beer

Duties include overseeing all aspects of the Tasting Room and staffing of events, from opening and closing, scheduling, hiring/firing, onboarding/training, inventory management, cash management/reconciliation, promoting growth and hitting sales and profitability targets. You must possess a self-starting attitude and drive for success for this role.

The TRM will be working with the Marketing Coordinator and the Sales team and report directly to the Director of Sales and must operate within the parameters of the marketing goals and vision of Lighthouse brewing Company. The TRM is ultimately responsible for creating and maintaining outstanding impressions to all of our visitors.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:
Tasting Room Duties
- Create business plan to drive sales and exceed targets and quotas
- Greet, serve and engage with customers
- Take and fill customer orders for draught and retail sales
- Confidently and accurately talk about beer and the specifics of each of our beers
- Make cash, debit, and credit transactions using our Point of Sale (POS) system
- Adhere to Serving It Right and LCLB licensing protocols
- Perform opening and closing duties, including:

- Cash/debit/credit management/reconciliations
- Daily inventory management/reconciliations
- Daily cleaning of tasting room, including entryway, stairwell, counters, floors, fridge, display areas, garbages and bathrooms
- Daily checks and cleaning of the exterior of the building and parking lot
- Maintain a clean, uncluttered work environment throughout the day
- Maintain an awesome tasting room atmosphere/experience: music, temperature, lighting, vibe, TV, slideshow, etc
- Handle all staffing related duties, including scheduling and training, as well as participating in recruiting, hiring, and discipline as required
- Maintain clean and accurate signage and pricing (instore and online)
- Maintain organized and accurate system in POS for inventory, customers, discounts, etc
- Ensure capacity limits are monitored and enforced
- Make recommendations and implement promotions/sales within the TR

Inventory Management Duties
- Maintain accurate knowledge of all inventory items and quantities in the TR
- Transfer of kegs and packaged product to TR and accurately record transfers
- Perform month-end and year-end inventory counts
- Source out inventory items and relay order requirements to Purchaser/Accounting MGR

Picnic Area and Parking Lot Duties
- Conduct routine picnic area checks and maintain a clean area, including the parking lot
- Watering/weeding/deadheading of plants, general gardening in picnic area
- Ensure signage is in place and correct
- Ensure capacity limits are monitored and enforced

Event Staffing Coordination and Support
- Schedule and supervise event staff and actively participate at events as required
- Aid and support, as required, to the Marketing department regarding the internal events program, including staffing events and brewery tours
- Develop an accurate and insightful event recap template and financial reporting process in conjunction with the Accounting Manager to analyze the success of events and/or sponsorships

Other Duties
- Regularly assess existing systems and make recommendations for improvement
- Contribute ideas and content to social media platforms
- Participate in external events as scheduling permits
- Be willing to assist in other areas of the brewery as required

**Qualifications**:

- Passion for Craft Beer
- Previous supervisory experience an asset
- Previous experience in the service industry
- Must have valid Serving It Right Certification
- Professional demeanour and polished appearance
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Must have cash management and POS (Point of Sale) experience
- Ability to maintain high levels of customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work and manage multiple priorities
