**THE ROLE**

Our **Construction** **Project Manager** is responsible for delivering satisfactory results of projects of varying size and complexity. The Project Manager is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling project activities. Duties to be completed in conjunction with the Estimator, Foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers while working under the direction of company leadership.

**SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Project Responsibilities**
- Review project estimate to determine coordination, equipment, labour, subcontractor/supplier, and logístical requirements ahead of project start up.
- Organize and review project locates and start-up documentation, ahead of project start-up meeting with company leadership and project team.
- Determine appropriate supplier/subcontractor requirements and generate Purchase Orders for their execution as per company subcontractor and supplier requirements.
- Maintain and update digital project documentation, layout files, financials as per internal procedures.
- Ensure all team members aware of any design or scope updates.
- Review sites frequently to remain updated and connected. Attend relevant site-specific meetings.
- Support and promote cost-effective problem solving with Foreman and site crews.

**Project Scheduling and Financial Tracking**
- Create and manage project scheduling and distribution of timeline updates to relevant parties.
- Manage substantial completion certificates and project close out documents.
- Communicate with all internal stakeholders about project status and issues that may impact project performance.
- Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor projects work hours, budgets, and expenditures to report and navigate project progress “actuals” against baseline forecasting, milestones, product cost, and all project costs.
- Track ongoing projects and provide updated work-on-hand to company leadership.
- Review, approve and track all subcontractor and supplier invoicing on projects.
- Complete and submit quarterly Cost-to-Complete analyses to company leadership for all projects.

**Procurement and Sub-Contracts**
- Assist with RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the Estimator, Foreman, Clients, Engineers, and the Leadership team.
- Ensure stakeholder needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Assist in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.

**General Support within Company**
- Create, manage, and communicate all updates: new projects, invoicing and maintaining projects in the ERP System.
- Commitment to continuous improvements, adopt processes and tools aimed at improving the way that projects are managed as well as the overall business function as relating to our construction projects.
- Assist other team members as needed, based on current workloads or needs within the company.
- Attend and participate in industry and educational events or training.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**
- Proven ability to coordinate project resources independently or as a team.
- Thorough understanding of the construction process involving excavation, earthworks, and sewer and watermain. Complementary construction experiences considered an asset.
- Experience in project based financial management, cost estimation and control and risk identification, assessment, and management.
- Business awareness - attention to product, project, and corporate profitability.

**EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE**
- Post Secondary education in Engineering or Construction.
- Formal project management qualification preferred.
- **5-7 years** project experience preferred.
- Competent in MS Office suite & MS Project/Enterprise.
- Experience with electronic bidding, management, resource monitoring an asset.
- Knowledge of business and electronic accounting software.
- Equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
