**Reporting to the Senior Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator is responsible for**:

- Monitors and assists with the implementation of project Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) plans, regulatory requirements and other safe work practices.
- Identifies and assists in conducting project-specific HSE training.
- Provides project team with project-specific HSE information and trends and assists to create action plans.
- Prepare and submit the annual COR audit for Manitoba.
- Support in the implementation of COR audit for Ontario.
- Assists with development and implementation of hazard identification tools.
- Conducts project HSE inspections and verifies corrective actions have been implemented.
- Creates and implements project-specific emergency response plans.
- Coordinates and monitors project security requirements.
- Gathers, reviews and provides input on documentation and monitors contractor safety compliance.
- Provides information to project staff on applicable HSE legislation requirements.
- Conduct regular and scheduled visits to project sites.
- Perform various Operational Health and Safety (OHS) duties to support the project and the team.
- Notifies appropriate stakeholders of any incident and supporting the investigation.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with project teams, clients and subtrades.
- Create and deliver presentations on various safety awareness and topics.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum two years experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSE.
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification, or other OHS certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
- Knowledge of applicable safety legislation, and/or willingness to learn applicable OHS, environmental legislation and HSE processes.
- Capability to be discrete with sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable with identifying and resolving conflicts.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in the construction industry and understanding the terminology and processes an asset.
- Experience with SiteDocs an asset.
