The primary responsibilities of the Kitchen Porter include:

- Collect dishes and cooking utensils for washing
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans, using dishwasher and/or by hand
- Inspect dishes and utensils after washing to ensure cleanliness
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas
- Replenish clean supply of dishware and eating utensils
- Clean and sterilize sinks
- Clean dish room
- Assist in unloading and storing supplies
- Stock juice and milk machines
- Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room floors
- Move tables and chairs
- Remove garbage, compost, and recycling
- Comply with Health and Safety under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Comply with safe food handling and safe handling of cleaning chemicals (W.H.M.I.S)
- Reliability and flexibility
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Position requires considerable walking and standing for long periods
- A current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check

Scheduled shifts will include evenings and weekends.
