Companion Coordinator

**Companion Coordinator - Full Time Summer Contract**
**(Monday - Friday 9:30AM - 4:30PM)**

The Dorval Day Camp is looking for a companion program coordinator for our camp (5-12 years old). They will work side-by-side with companions and help them integrate the children with special needs into their respective groups and daily activities. The coordinator will offer their support to the companions for any difficulties they may have. In addition, they will take care of making the child/companion pairs, alongside the directors in accordance with the needs of the children and the strengths of the accompanying staff.

The Companion Coordinator reports directly to the Camp Directors.

**Detailed Task Description**:
**Safety and Supervision**:

- The Companion Coordinator will be on call for the companion staff when they need extra hands
- Perform interventions regarding problematic behaviour
- Ensuring that the companions are operating with safety and integration as their main concerns
- Responsible for giving integration advice to the staff and coming up with innovative ideas

**Qualifications**:

- 3 years of relevant experience with children
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- A team player
- Good sense of humour, an appreciation and understanding of children
- Fluency in French and English

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 months

**Salary**: $17.50 per hour

**Experience**:

- Special education: 2 years (required)
